CONSTRUCTION, REFURBISHMENT AND FIT OUT

Working with the in house ‘Trade Centre’ construction team, Pankow was tasked with providing full project management services to convert an existing Retail building into a high-quality used car showroom and sales pitch.

The Trade Centre are one of the United Kingdoms leading used care sales companies, they offer a high level of customer service and satisfaction and take great pride in their facilities mirroring the way they operate as a business. With customer experience being key.

The Trade Centre had procured a building previously occupied by Homebase and had a strong vision based upon previously completed project of converting the existing building and external spaces into a high-quality used car showroom, this included general refurbishment of the circa 50’000 sq ft building itself and conversion of approximately 3 acres of waste into a sale pitch to display circa 1000 + cars.

The building itself housed a high-quality reception area, customer spaces and sales offices, with a fully polished concrete floor slab within the internal car sales area, a mezzanine floor was installed to provide first floor office accommodation with internal viewing gallery. The building was subject to a full uplift which included full redecoration, refurbishment of toilets and a reworking of the existing mechanical and electrical services.

The external areas were also subject to full enhancement including the conversion of circa 3 acres of wasteland into an extended sales pitch, this included a SuD’s compliant drainage design, significant groundworks to provide foundations for external canopies and temporary buildings.

Pankow provided full management of contractors, costs, programme, and quality of completed works from start to completion. Hosting weekly client and progress meetings, ensuring that communication with The Trade Centre was clear and concise throughout.

Alongside the main facility Pankow project managed the fit out of a separate neighbouring facility which houses the customer care function of the business.
